How is AI used in the Graphic Design programme?

You will explore AI through special events, such as a planned AI Day, where both you and your instructors collaborate to learn about tools like image and text generators, with a focus on Adobe Firefly AI and how to use it as an assistant in the design process. You will be encouraged to experiment and see how AI can support idea development and streamline design processes. Along with these activities, you will also receive guidance on the ethical and transparent use of AI.

We emphasize that AI should be used as a tool to support creativity, not replace it, and that all AI usage in your work must be clearly marked.

How is AI being used in the workplace within Graphic Design?

In the industry, AI is transforming graphic design by enhancing productivity and creativity. Image- and text-generating tools help designers automate repetitive tasks, and explore creative possibilities faster, freeing up time for conceptualisation and refinement.

We feel that a strong emphasis on human originality and skill should remain, with AI-generated content serving as a starting point rather than the final product. While AI can assist with many tasks, human-centred design, innovation, and real-world problem-solving skills remain irreplaceable and central to the designer’s role.

Why study Graphic Design?

As a graphic designer, you’ll face unique challenges daily, with each project offering creative opportunities in strategic design, illustration, photography, web design, and animation. Career paths span design agencies, print companies, film production, or freelancing.

The programme involves real-world projects, with past students collaborating with brands like Palmesus and Hennig Olsen, providing valuable industry insights.

The goal is to develop independent designers who work well across disciplines. Success requires passion for the field, a strong work ethic, and ambition.

One-year programme also available

The first year of this two-year programme is the same as the one-year programme in Graphic Design. However, you can apply directly to this two-year programme and secure your place for two years.
