By Air
- Teesside International Airport (MME) is about 20 km from the university and offers flights to destinations including Amsterdam (Schiphol).
- Newcastle Airport (NCL) is around 80 km away and provides routes to Amsterdam, London Heathrow, and other major European destinations.
Airport Pickup Service
Teesside University offers a free meet-and-greet service with transport from Newcastle Airport to Middlesbrough. This service is available during specific periods and has certain conditions. You must register in advance—at least five working days before your departure—to take advantage of this option.

Travelling Around the UK

- Within an hour by public transport it is possible to reach historic York and Durham, or coastal gems such as Saltburn and Whitby. The North Yorkshire Moors and the Cleveland Way National Trail also offer fantastic hiking opportunities.
- In under two hours, visitors can reach major cities such as Newcastle and Leeds.
- For longer journeys, London, Manchester, and Edinburgh are all less than 2.5 hours away, ideal for weekend breaks or day trips.

The entry requirement is a completed higher vocational education degree with 120 credits from Noroff, having successfully passed either the two-year Graphic Design or 3D Art and Games Technology.
You will be able to access the English version of your diploma through the Noroff student portal or Vitnemålsportalen.
The following options are accepted to demonstrate English proficiency for studies at Teesside University:
- A grade of 4 or higher in English from a Norwegian upper secondary school diploma.
- Approved English language tests, such as TOEFL or IELTS.
International qualifications, such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, may require a higher level of English.

The tuition fees for international full-time students for the 2025/26 academic year are £17,000 per year. More information about fees and payments can be found here.
You need to have at least £1,136 per month for living expenses, up to a maximum of 9 months (£10,224), for the duration of your programme. You must also ensure you have enough funds to cover your full programme fees.

A preliminary statement of loans and grants can serve as provisional documentation showing that you are eligible to receive loans and grants from Lånekassen when applying for admission to study abroad.

Please note that you must have received your final offer and a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) before you can apply for a visa. The CAS will be issued once you have uploaded your final transcript from Noroff, showing 120 ECTS credits, and met any other entry requirements.

Application Guide
1. Create a new user
Start your application by creating a new account on the Teesside University portal.
2. Document Upload
Upload your CV, personal statement, referee statement, high school diploma and Noroff transcript (all documents must be in English), and a copy of your passport. The personal statement should explain why you want to study the program, what motivates you, and what interests you. You can fill out this section later in the application if needed. The referee statement should come from one of your teachers. Once you have completed your studies at Noroff, you can upload your diploma, which is available on Studentweb.
3. Applicant Details
Fill in your personal information in the required fields, but skip any sections specific to UK citizens. Some questions may be unfamiliar, but complete them as best you can. Teesside Admissions will contact you if any information is incorrect. In the “Payment of Fees” section, select Government and write Lånekassen.
4. Qualifications
Under “Highest Qualification,” select Other non-UK qualification unless your education fits one of the other options. For “Last Two Education Establishments Attended,” list your high school as Level 4 and your current vocational college program as Level 5. Under “English Language Ability,” select option b: Other and write High School along with your English grade from upper secondary school. If you do not have an English grade from high school, contact Teesside University to see if an English language test is required.
5. Referee
One of your teachers must be listed as a referee in the application. Make sure to confirm this with them beforehand. You can use Noroff’s address where required: Tordenskjoldsgate 9, 4612 Kristiansand, Norway. It is also recommended to include a personal statement explaining why you want to take this program, what motivates you, and what relevant experience you have.
Applications typically open in the fall of the year prior to the desired intake, provided that application links for the upcoming academic year are available.
We recommend that you apply well in advance, and no later than June 15 of the intake year.
You can only begin your visa application after you have received final admission and your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies). CAS is a document that confirms your acceptance into a study program at an approved university or educational institution and is required to apply for a student visa.
