We are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Online Lecturers to teach Front-End Development to higher education students in Norway. These are remote, full-time roles open to candidates residing in Norway or South Africa who are enthusiastic about learning and education in general and open to innovative models of learning and teaching.

The ideal candidates have broad and relevant industry experience and a strong commitment to practical, activity-based teaching. Strong knowledge in user-centered web solutions is essential, with expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with interaction design and universal design is desirable.

Course materials are supplied for students to engage with, while online teachers provide guidance and support. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise while inspiring and mentoring the next generation of web developers, staying connected to industry and fostering continuous learning and innovation.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging online classes in front-end development through live sessions, recorded lectures, and activity-based learning.
  • Design, update, and maintain course materials to reflect current industry practices and emerging trends.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and evaluations; provide constructive feedback and mentorship.
  • Support student engagement by facilitating discussions, Q&A sessions, and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with a distributed team to plan curriculum, align teaching methods, and improve the learning experience.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, bringing fresh insights into the virtual classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Education in front-end development, back-end development, computer programming, web design, or similar at minimum two-year vocational school level or higher.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience in front-end development (or similar).
  • Professional-level English.
  • Solid expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Experience with methods and process models in front-end development and web design.
  • Understanding of good user experiences and universal design principles; Figma knowledge is desired.
  • Strong skills in developing dynamic and interactive solutions using JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript productivity tooling (package managers, build tools, linters, formatters).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in project work.
  • Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind, Bootstrap) and component libraries.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as WordPress REST APIs and Firebase.
  • Version control with Git (branching workflows, pull requests, advanced procedures).
  • Ability to create meaningful tests to validate functionality.

Experience we also value:

  • Practical pedagogical education and teaching experience (desirable). If pedagogy is not covered at employment, we offer training and follow-up.
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education, preferably online.
  • Norwegian language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle.
  • Experience with remote teaching tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx).

Skills:

  • Good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Strong collaboration skills.

Personal characteristics:

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to a dynamic and visionary team environment.
  • Strong time-management; able to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
  • Stable internet connection, professional home office setup, and reliable electricity supply.
  • Willingness to work full-time aligned with the CET time zone.

What we offer:

  • A dynamic and international work environment.
