Choosing an education will be crucial for most people regarding what they will do for the rest of their lives. We have gathered some good tips on how to choose the education that is right for you.
The time during your studies is about charting the course for the future, but partly also about finding oneself. Fortunately, nobody demands that you have the answer to exactly what you want in advance, and for many, the path takes shape along the way.
Where do you start?
- It is crucial to think about what you are interested in and what you want to know more about. Curiosity for a subject area is the most important. says Synne Krogstad Johnsen.

- It is also important to think about the time after you finish your studies, mainly what kind of jobs you can use your education for and what the future prospects for your education are. You don't have to have a specific plan, but it's wise to have some thoughts about future job opportunities, she says.
Johnsen recommends making a list of your interests and researching online to find out more about how you can incorporate your interests into an education. She also believes it's important to figure out what you are willing to do for the right education.
-For example, are you willing to move to another city or abroad? Or do you want to stay where you are? There can be various reasons why one might not want to move, but generally, I think many could benefit from challenging themselves to move to a new place for the dream education, she says.

Choosing an education is one of the biggest decisions you'll make in life, and it can have an impact on how your life turns out for many years to come. That's enough to make many people nervous. But should you follow your head or your heart when choosing your education?
– I think it's hard to follow your head if your heart isn't in it. I believe you risk feeling that the genuine interest and curiosity for what you study are lacking, something I consider fundamental to thrive and succeed in what you do.
Several research reports show a connection between internal motivation, performance, and reward. Even though job prospects should be considered, it's primarily one's own motivation that matters.
– I think you should primarily follow your heart, and hopefully, the head agrees, Johnsen smiles.
