: Gerhard is an experienced educator of Introductory Programming and Computer Fundamentals. Having taught at various Secondary and Higher Educational Institutions in South Africa, Ukraine, and Norway. Educating across different age groups, cultures, and backgrounds, a core focus is on developing critical thinking, a thirst for knowledge and helping students discover and develop their own interests.

While completing his Bachelors in Technology, Gerhard worked at Nelson Mandela University (NMU), providing guidance to students in Programming and Computer Fundamentals. Following the degree, his PGCE focused on Information Technology and Mathematical Literacy.

Research Interests

Research focussed on the use of game engines to develop games and their use as a UI for controlling remote-controlled Lego robots and visualising sensor inputs in a simulated hazardous environment.
