Satisfaction remains high at Noroff University College. Students highlight skilled and dedicated teachers as a key reason for the strong results in Studiebarometeret.
Students give Noroff University College a score of 4.1 out of 5 when asked how satisfied they are overall with their studies. This is reflected in the 2025 National Student Survey, Studiebarometeret, the results of which were presented today.
The findings are important input into Noroff University College’s work to further develop the quality of its study programmes.
Praise for the lecturers
Students in the Department of Interactive Media are once again the most satisfied at the university college. Bachelor’s students specialising in Games and Animation rate their programmes at 4.6 and 4.7 respectively in overall satisfaction.
According to the students, the teachers deserve much of the credit for these strong results.
–The lecturers are good at teaching and motivate us to learn. I think they deserve praise for the work they do in teaching us all these skills, says Gerd Alicia Schlezinger.
She describes an environment in which students who struggle are identified early and guided back toward successful engagement and achievement.
– The lecturers have been very helpful to those who struggle a bit more than others with certain assignments, she says.
Fellow student Ingelin Sollid Tveit agrees:
– The university college is very good at taking care of us as students.
A warm and engaging environment
Students describe the lecturers as genuinely passionate and highly engaged in their subjects. This helps to create an environment characterized by a strong sense of community and pride.
Schlezinger, who studies Interactive Media – Games, believes that the strong results may be linked to the fact that her cohort consists of students who are motivated to learn and who support one another.
– My impression is that most students are thriving, and I am too.
Tveit shares the same experience from her cohort in Interactive Media – Animation:
– There is a positive environment among the students. We are good at engaging with and supporting each other, she says.

Stable, high performance
The 2025 National Student Survey shows that Noroff University College achieves the same overall satisfaction score as in 2024. This places the institution at a stable, high level and in line with the national average.
Noroff University College scores consistently well in teaching quality, assessment methods, and student engagement. For the main areas of learning environment and infrastructure, as well as links to working life, the results are somewhat weaker than the previous year.
– Going forward, we will continue to analyse the findings and draw lessons from the survey, to ensure that quality and student well-being remain at a consistently high level at Noroff University College, says Rector Emlyn Butterfield.
Clear AI guidelines
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of everyday student life. Challenges associated with the use of these new tools are a key priority for institutions across the country.
With a score of 4.4 out of 5, Noroff University College ranks highest among all institutions for having clear guidelines on the use of AI during examinations. The question on AI guidelines is entirely new to this year’s edition of the survey.
When it comes to training in the use of AI tools, however, there is room for improvement across much of the higher education sector.
– We are aware of the need for further training in the use of AI across the sector, and we see this now reflected in the results, says Butterfield.
